About

Independent, and a little obsessive.

Hunter is an independent Irish digital marketing publication. We research the agencies, tools and tactics worth knowing, then publish shortlists you can actually use.

Most writing about digital marketing agencies has a trust problem. It is either written by agencies about themselves, or by directories that rank whoever pays the most. If you are a business owner trying to hire the right people, that is close to useless. You cannot tell a genuine specialist from a good sales page.

Hunter exists to be the opposite of that. We are a publication, not an agency, and nobody buys their way onto a list. We take one question at a time, like the best digital marketing agencies in Dublin, and answer it with a short, researched list of companies worth considering.

What Hunter gives you

Every guide takes a single service and place and shortlists around ten genuine companies. For each one we explain what they are known for, roughly who they suit, and the details you need to make contact. The idea is to save you the hours of sifting and hand you a shorter list to start from.

Researched, not scraped

We build each list by hand from public information: official sites, case studies, industry listings and reviews.

Context, not just names

Anyone can list agencies. We add the useful part: what each one focuses on and the kind of client it fits.

Honest about the order

The numbering is editorial judgement, not a league table. It is a place to start, not a scoreboard.

Independent

No company pays to appear. If that ever changes for a specific guide, we will label it clearly and up front.

Digital marketing first, plus Hunter Picks

Digital marketing is our main subject: SEO, PPC and paid media, social, web design and development, and content and PR. Alongside it we run Hunter Picks, a separate series of shortlists for good businesses beyond digital marketing, researched to the same standard. It is deliberately secondary, so the focus of the site stays clear.

How to use the site

Start with a topic or browse the latest. When you find the guide you need, use it as a starting point. Read the entries, pick two or three that fit, and talk to them before you decide.

If you want to understand exactly how the lists are built and ordered, read how we choose. And if you run or know a company that belongs on a shortlist, we would like to hear about it, so please get in touch.

Can’t find the shortlist you need?

Hunter adds new guides and shortlists regularly, by topic and by city. Tell us what you are researching, or suggest a company worth including.
